Serena Sterling recalled that when she was with Julian Lawson, they never seemed to have such a scenario. Perhaps it was because they didn’t have children around them at that time. Meanwhile, Silas Hawthorne had made an appointment with Seraphina. Then he looked up and asked her, "Is this time and place okay?" Serena then snapped back to reality, remembering their conversation just now, and nodded her head. Seraphina went to study the painting over there again, leaving Serena and Silas standing face to face. Serena suddenly realized that there were only three of them in the office now. Suddenly, it felt a bit strange. "Where’s Joy?" Serena randomly picked a topic. "When I came over, her stomach was hurting, so she asked me to help look after Seraphina; she’ll be back later," Silas replied. Serena glanced at the surveillance camera that was always on and blinked. Serena nodded and continued to ask, "Young Master, are you here to visit a friend, or are you not feeling well?" But Silas just smiled and said, "I came to find you." Serena frowned slightly, not speaking further, just looking at him. "Are you free?" Silas smiled gently and said, "I brought some stuff and need to go to the open ground below." He paused slightly and added, "And bring Seraphina along." Serena thought for a moment and then nodded. Bringing Seraphina along shouldn’t be anything to avoid. "I’ll leave a note for Joy," Serena said, then went to the table to write a note. "Hmm," Silas replied, lowering his eyes to watch her write the note. At the moment, on the other side. Julian Lawson still stood there, with fresh blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, marking the ground in front of him. Some passers-by noticed him and immediately called for a nurse. The nurse took him to clean up. After applying medicine and giving him an ice pack for his face, the doctor finally let him go. Julian sat on a chair by the corridor, holding the ice pack to his face, unsure of how he felt. He just stared blankly out the window at the open space outside. Someone walked out from the nearby ward. The person sat beside him. "Brother Julian." A voice called out. Julian looked up to see the pale face of Vera Hansen. "Why are you out here?" Julian slightly frowned, looking at her bandaged wrist, and asked. But Vera just stared at his face. "What happened to your face?" Vera said with teary eyes, "How did it get hurt so badly?" Julian shook his head, still looking at her wrist. "My hand is bandaged," Vera said, following his gaze, "It’s nothing serious, it will heal." "I’m sorry, Brother Julian, it’s all my fault," she said with teary eyes, "I messed up again." Julian avoided Vera’s hand, slightly lowering his eyes. "Hmm?" Vera responded. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵※𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮※𝓷𝓮𝓽 "Don’t do foolish things in the future, okay?" he said. Vera gave a weak and "forced" smile, "I know." "It’s just..." she looked pitiful yet beautiful, "I didn’t know what was happening; I lost control of my emotions." "But I’ll regulate them well," she said. Julian raised his eyes, his dark eyes locking onto her. Vera felt a bit anxious. "What’s wrong, Brother Julian?" she asked. Julian withdrew his gaze, looking back out the window again. He shook his head, saying nothing. Outside the window, a few people suddenly walked onto the distant open ground. But it was too far, and he couldn’t see who they were or what they were doing. However, those three little figures seemed to have some inexplicable magic, drawing his attention. Serena, Seraphina, and Silas arrived at the open ground. Silas went to the side and, out of nowhere, brought out a bag. Serena held Seraphina’s hand, watching him curiously. "Luckily, hiding it here didn’t get it taken away," Silas said as he took out some canister-like objects. "What are these?" Serena looked over curiously. Silas handed it over for her to see, "Fireworks, not the kind that go high up with loud noise, but they make a bit of sound." He then looked at Seraphina and handed another one for Seraphina to see, asking, "Can Seraphina watch this?" Serena looked at the fireworks, the kind that sat on the ground and shot sparks. She was contemplating without speaking when Seraphina nodded. "Yes," Seraphina said, "The director set them off during New Year, I can watch." After confirming with Bianca Lynch that it was okay, Serena nodded. Silas had already set them up on the open ground. Serena held Seraphina in her arms and covered her ears. Lighting the fuse, the fireworks burst into bloom on the ground. They burned in clusters, creating beautiful fiery trees and silver flowers. Seraphina giggled, clapping happily. Serena smiled and released her hands from covering Seraphina’s ears. Watching the blazing fireworks, the previous sorrow faded away significantly. "Originally, I planned a drone fireworks show for today," Silas stood beside her, speaking softly, "But then... I couldn’t use it. I thought about it and was still unwilling to let it go, so I brought these to find you." Serena looked at the still-blooming fireworks, knowing what he was referring to. Vera’s wrist-cutting incident had caused such a stir; if they set off large fireworks to celebrate her, Serena at this time would stir up another wave of drama if it got out. "I heard that on your wedding day with him, and the night before your divorce, you set off fireworks." He said, "I know he hurt you deeply; I don’t want you to think of him whenever you see fireworks in the future." "So I thought, on the day you win the ’Heavenly Sound’ championship, to prepare a unique fireworks show for you so that in the future, when you see fireworks, maybe what you remember will turn into today’s victory." He paused slightly and added, "With me." Serena looked at the blazing fireworks, still so intense, bursting into countless brilliant sparks. She slowly turned her head, shifting her gaze from the fireworks to Silas’s face. He never once looked at the fireworks; his gaze was always on her. He smiled, "It’s a pity I didn’t get to use it in the end." His elegant and handsome face flickered in the firelight. Only those eyes always watched her. With a hint of sadness and a touch of helplessness. Her silhouette was reflected in those dark eyes. Suddenly, she smiled. Wasn’t it supposed to be a new beginning? She thought she might need to change as well.
