Deep within the Mini Reaper Garden, on the Marshmallow Plains. I was carefully carving a White Hungry Ghost that had mocked the Blue Idol Reaper. I had decided to make it into an elegant [Spiral White Hungry Ghost Roast], like a Renaissance sculpture. ‘Ah, I made a mistake.’ Maybe it was because the White Hungry Ghost was made of marshmallow. Or perhaps the ‘Filial Piety’ I confiscated from the Ghost Reaper was too sharp. Or it could be that my knife skills were terrible, but I kept failing to carve the White Hungry Ghost into a spiral shape. The White Hungry Ghost, its body suddenly cut in half, let out an aggrieved cry. And no sooner had I failed than I heard the laughter of White Hungry Ghosts secretly watching me. The moment I heard that laughter, I rushed at the laughing White Hungry Ghost and skewered it on one of the many spits stuck around me. Because of White Hungry Ghosts like that, I was surrounded by a hill of White Hungry Ghost skewers, slowly burning on spits. ‘These White Hungry Ghosts keep giggling even though they know this will happen to them….’ Whether it was in their nature or not, White Hungry Ghosts often did this. Judging by how Mini Reapers had no qualms about eating White Hungry Ghosts, they must have been mocked often too. I firmly grasped the regenerated White Hungry Ghost and raised ‘Filial Piety’ again. As the sound of slowly carving marshmallow filled the air, the regenerated White Hungry Ghost went limp as if giving up and began to be carved. As I was slowly carving like that, strange sounds kept echoing from behind me. When I turned my head, it was the sound of devious Hungry Ghosts covering their mouths, pretending they hadn’t made a sound. Perhaps I was too distracted by the giggling White Hungry Ghosts, but I accidentally cut through the spiral part that was supposed to be thinly carved. Then the White Hungry Ghost’s cry echoed again. Hearing that sound, I got up from my seat, and the White Hungry Ghosts who had been watching through the gaps between the skewers scattered in all directions. ‘I need to do something about these White Hungry Ghosts.’ I steeled my resolve as I watched the White Hungry Ghosts fleeing, wagging their short tails. Those cursed beings, I’ll make sure they can never giggle ‘kyuhihi’ again. As my fuel began to burn fiercely with anger, I slowly pulled out the Labyrinth Halo from the sky above. The white-hot radiance of the halo illuminated my face. I hesitated for a moment, knowing it would be extremely painful, but I steeled myself and put the halo on my head. Then I began to slowly imagine the most suitable form in my mind. ‘An Object that captures White Hungry Ghosts and burns them forever.’ ‘With size and strength that won’t lose to the White Hungry Ghost’s main body.’ Brilliant light blossomed from the halo. It looked like threads made of white light, but gradually thickened and took shape. The power of Illusion Manifestation began to sketch the outline of a massive being. What was completed was the frame of a hollow White Hungry Ghost Punishment Object. Once the frame was complete, I called forth the Black Reapers in the Mini Reaper Garden. I slowly peeled off the Black Reapers that kept clinging to me and exuded my will. ‘Black Reapers, get into the golem.’ I was able to employ the Black Reapers on the condition of playing with them once a month and feeding them snacks. How much time had passed since the Black Reapers had crawled into the frame? Finally, the Object to burn White Hungry Ghosts was finished. A massive, imposing Object, burning hot with the flames of fuel, and strengthened by the power of Black Reapers. I named this Object the ‘White Ghoul Incinerator Golem’. As my will spread, the golem slowly raised its enormous body and began to advance with heavy footsteps. ‘Burn all the White Hungry Ghosts!’ With my command, the golem leaped high into the sky. And as it fell towards where the White Hungry Ghosts were gathered, it spewed flames in all directions. The White Hungry Ghosts screamed and fled, but they couldn’t escape the golem’s flames. And the golem collected the White Hungry Ghosts that had become difficult to move with their bodies on fire and put them inside its body. I looked up at that magnificent golem with a smile. The best part of the Incinerator Golem was that you could hear the sweet ‘kyuhinghing’ sound just by approaching it. As I was watching the golem’s exploits while listening to the White Hungry Ghosts’ cries, Golden Reapers riding White Hungry Ghosts began to swarm around me. Could they be trying to tell me not to bully the White Hungry Ghosts? But the will sent by the Golden Reapers contained something completely different from what I expected. It was a will filled with great sadness and resignation. What on earth could have happened to make them ? At a university hospital in downtown Seoul. In that hospital housing victims of the Cognitive Ability Loss Incident, there was a girl. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, sis.” A short-haired girl was letting out a sad voice in the hospital room, but her sister showed no reaction. She just lay blankly on the bed. Next to her was the Golden Cloak Reaper who had walked all the way to the hospital. The Golden Cloak Reaper was sitting near the girl, looking up at the short-haired girl with a worried expression. ‘It’s already too late….’ ‘When will Mom come?’ The knight Golden Reapers riding White Hungry Ghosts were also shedding sparkling tears as they looked at the cognitive ability loss victims with sad expressions. ‘What will happen to the humans….’ And the White Hungry Ghosts, held captive by such Golden Reapers, were slowly being eaten. Perhaps because the Golden Reapers were so sad, the hospital was filled with a gloomy and depressing atmosphere. Amidst this, a slight change began to spread through the dark atmosphere of the hospital. A change that spread in whispers, as if somewhat excited but subdued due to the sad mood. “It’s the Gray Reaper.” The Gray Reaper had appeared in the hospital full of sorrow. As the Gray Reaper slowly walked down the hospital corridor, leading Golden Reapers riding White Hungry Ghosts, the attention of the people in the hospital was drawn. The Gray Reaper, seemingly a bit annoyed by such attention, entered the ward where the victims were gathered with its usual expressionless face. ‘The humans are pitiful!’ As the Gray Reaper appeared in the ward, the sobbing Golden Reapers rushed over in a crowd. The Gray Reaper, peeling off the clinging Golden Reapers one by one, slowly began to look around the ward. After taking in all the victims with its eyes like that, the Gray Reaper summoned the Mini Reaper Garden and swallowed all the cognitive ability loss victims. And just as suddenly as it had appeared, it vanished with a whoosh. Both the Gray Reaper’s appearance and its disappearance with the victims were abrupt. It was truly like a natural disaster. Of course, the victims’ families were very flustered by the sudden situation and started making phone calls, shouting, and causing a commotion. But the Golden Reapers didn’t seem anxious, instead smiling warmly as if very relieved. And they approached the panicked people, smiling brightly and sending their will. ‘Mom will solve everything!’ The office, long unused and covered in dust, was shrouded in silence. This place, once lively, now seemed to have fallen into a forgotten stage of memories. Pale dust enveloped the furniture, with the weight of time settled heavily upon it. At that moment, the old blinds by the window slowly moved, breaking the long silence. As if an old clock had started ticking again, the office began to slowly awaken. The morning sunlight seeping through the gradually opening gaps illuminated the interior in layers like stairs. Those beams of light made the dust particles dance, breathing life into the sleeping space. At the same time, the soft sound of footsteps echoed. And despite the empty office with no one present, thin finger marks began to appear on the dust-covered desk. It was as if an invisible hand was tracing old memories. The sunlight grew stronger, illuminating every corner of the office, and its warmth embraced the old wooden furniture. And with a click, the TV turned on. [People who suddenly disappeared due to the Gray Reaper have all returned.] [According to authorities, the missing people were all victims of the ‘Mass Cognitive Ability Incident’.] [Earlier breaking news reported that the victims seemed to have fully recovered to normal, but shocking facts were revealed as a result of detailed examinations conducted by the Object Council.] [Medical staff’s detailed examinations showed that the victims were in a state that could hardly be considered human anymore.] [They no longer have a biological composition, with ‘roll cake’ replacing it instead….] The sound of news flowing from the TV echoed through the office. That noisy TV sound felt natural, as if the office had always been . After some time passed, the TV suddenly turned off, just as it had suddenly turned on. And the sound of a cane tapping the floor twice was heard.
