---- Chapter 6 Dean gently lifted Erin from the floor and cradled her in his arms. He whispered comforting words to her. "Don't be afraid. I'll protect you and Amy from any harm." With that, he glanced sideways at Eliana and said to those behind him, "Take her away. She can be released when she realizes her mistake." Eliana straightened her back and sneered at Dean, who was tender to Erin. "I did nothing wrong. Dean, you need a wake-up call." Dean paused momentarily. Then he left with Erin and Amy without looking back. As the bodyguards were about to grab her, Eliana defiantly shook them off. "Don't touch me. If Brenden finds out, you'll be in big trouble." She resisted fiercely, so those people subdued her with a blow to the head and rendered her unconscious. When she awoke, she felt a dull ache at the back of her head. The room was pitch black, with only a sliver of light filtering through a small window. Before long, two men in black suits and masks brought her to ---- another room. Eliana had always known Dean had a secret place to punish those who had done something wrong. But she had never imagined that she'd end up there herself. Nor did she imagine that he would be so ruthless to her. In one day, she suffered various harsh interrogations that left her emotionally exhausted. When she was thrown back into the dark room, the sun had already set. She could see nothing in the darkness and only heard her own shallow breaths. A moment later, she heard rustling at the door. She thought someone was bringing her food, so she was about to rise. But two disgusting hands touched her thigh. Eliana reacted instantly and kicked the lower part of the intruder with all her might. Then she took off her high heel and frantically battered his face with it. His screams echoed through the room. Others had been sent away previously, so Eliana had the ---- chance to take action. She searched the man's body for his phone, unlocked it with his fingerprint, and dialed a familiar number. After making the call successfully, she kicked the unconscious man aside and collapsed to the floor. Her clothes were soaked with cold sweat, as she had been too nervous. Since the wedding dress that Dean had prepared was ruined, Dean had to use Eliana's wedding dress as a last-minute replacement. When Erin walked out in it, Dean was absent-minded. Eliana had designed the wedding dress herself, and he had commissioned a master abroad to make it. After it arrived, Eliana had put it on and twirled excitedly in front of him. But the one who would marry him in it was not Eliana. "Dean, what's wrong? You seem a bit unhappy." Dean shook his head. "I'm fine. I'm just feeling uneasy." Erin exchanged a glance with Amy. Amy immediately hugged Dean's leg and said sweetly, "Daddy, don't worry. I'll always stay with you." ---- Dean patted her cheek absentmindedly. He couldn't calm down and slipped away to the bathroom to smoke. But then he realized that he had no lighter with him. He had to get out when she overheard Erin's smug voice outside the dressing room. "Eliana must be raped by that guy now. She'll never have the chance to compete with me for Dean again." Dean swung the door open and asked incredulously, "What did you say?" Erin was panicked and was about to explain to him. But Dean grabbed his coat and stormed out angrily with a dark face. Erin was hampered by the dress and could only call after him, but he didn't turn back. Dean clenched his teeth while driving. He frantically called Eliana and those who guarded the room where Eliana was, but no one answered his calls. Fear and regret crept into his heart at that moment. He had only intended to teach Eliana a lesson, never to allow her to be harmed by another guy. With that on his mind, he pressed the accelerator harder and was desperate to see Eliana. His heart pounded as he shakily opened the door to the room. ---- An unconscious man lay there. Just as Dean intended to wake that guy up and ask him what had happened, his phone rang. Erin was calling him. "Dean, come back quickly. Eliana is here with a guy. They seemed to be here to crash the wedding dress..."
