---- I was just about to turn him down when Scarlett walked out of the private room. She looked drunk and was currently staring at Zeke with glazed eyes. Then, she proceeded to lean onto his chest. Zeke was carefully observing my reaction. He tried to push Scarlett off of him, but he wasn't able to do so no matter how hard he tried. "Scarlett is just drunk," he frantically explained. " We don't usually have any physical contact." At first, I didn't think much of it. Instead of clearing things up, his explanation only made him look more guilty. Inodded and hummed in response. "I understand. " "My head is spinning, Zeke. Can you please take me home?" Scarlett asked, slurring her words as she spoke. ---- Her breath reeked of alcohol, and she was breathing directly onto Zeke's neck. Despite what she was doing, he didn't budge or even try to move away from her. He just looked resigned. He used to tell me that he disliked the smell of alcohol. Judging by what was happening at the moment, it seemed like he didn't have a problem with it if Scarlett was involved. Zeke didn't respond to her. Instead, he turned to look at me and said, "Give me a moment, okay? I'll get her a cab, and then we can head home together. How does that sound?" Before I could reply, Scarlett, who was leaning against Zeke's chest, started to mumble incoherently again. She was nuzzling her head against him in an affectionate manner. Her actions looked incredibly natural. After witnessing the entire thing, I said emotionlessly, "It's okay-it looks like she needs you more than I do. I'll just head home on my own. ---- Before he could say anything else, I walked over to the table and bid everyone goodbye before leaving the restaurant. Zeke wanted to go after me, but Scarlett was clinging onto him to stop him from leaving. Considering my safety, I hailed a taxi by the side of the road and headed home. Since I had a few drinks earlier, my mind felt fuzzy. I sat in the backseat of the taxi and glanced at the view outside. All of a sudden, the scenery outside began to blur.
