---- Chapter 22 Matthew drank all day long after the divorce. It was as if he could forget everything by drowning himself in liquor. Every day, he flipped through photo albums of him and Jenna. He reprinted them and pasted them all over his bedroom. Plopping down on the floor, he looked at the photos and burst into tears. Whenever he came home in the past, the lights would be on and she would be waiting for him no matter how late it was. He put aside his work and drank at home all day but could not see the person who loved him wholeheartedly anymore. Matthew was afraid to sleep. Every time he closed his eyes, all he could think about was memories of them together, but those happy memories were always followed by scenes of him betraying and deceiving Jenna, which left him torn. He began to be afraid of staying at home alone and invited all his friends out for drinks. However, he only drank without saying a word after getting to the bar. His friends sat aside looking at each other, but no one ---- dared to persuade him. The news of Matthew and Jenna's divorce had not been publicized, but it had gradually spread in their circle. Luna had a hard time too. It was said that she was taken to the hospital but the doctors failed to save her baby after Matthew severely injured her. Even so, Matthew still refused to spare her. Until now, she could not find a job due to Simmons Group's suppression. Her parents felt ashamed of her and cut ties with her. Luna was barely surviving and was treading on thin ice. "Matt, don't go too far even if you hate her. Be careful or she'll do something rash when she's desperate." Someone mustered the courage to persuade him. Matthew leaned on the couch, closed his eyes, and was silent for a long time. He did not take Luna seriously at all. All he thought about was Jenna. He never considered that Luna could be plotting revenge. She used to think Matthew loved her, but she was ---- awfully wrong. When she was almost half-dead on the operating table that day, she realized that Matthew had never loved her. She could not accept this outcome, so she started staking out every day. Today, she finally caught Matthew drinking at the bar. She waited until late at night until Matthew walked out of the bar drunk. Luna's eyes flashed with a hint of malice as she took out the dagger she had prepared long ago and stabbed Matthew. Extreme love would indeed turn into hatred. She cried and laughed like she had lost her mind. "Matthew, why were you nice to me if you didn't love me? You made me fall for you first, but you ruthlessly plunged me into the deep. In that case, let's die together. I want to die with you!" He clutched his chest tightly as if he was relieved. " Sure. I've long wanted to die anyway. The only person I love is Jenna. Since she has left me, there's no need for me to go on living." ---- Hearing this, Luna lost control of her emotions and stabbed Matthew's chest several times. She replied resentfully, "You're still thinking of her even when. you're dying! Why? Why are you treating me like this? You were so good to me back then. Were those sweet memories fake..." Matthew spat out a mouthful of blood with a smile. " We both hurt Jenna. We deserve to die. I betrayed my promise to her. I deserve to die... I deserve to die!"
