Chapter 21 We stood in a great hall with a water fountain in the center , surrounded by priceless antiques and pictures . At the end of the hall , where it continued into a hallway , there was a double staircase leading onto the next floor . I looked in the first door to the right to find a grand library , with every wall covered in bookcases , and rows upon rows of books . There were a few couches in the center of the room , as well as a small bar cart off to the side . I smiled when I saw this , Damien knew how much I loved to read , and I could get lost in a room like this for hours . I crossed the hall to the doorway across from the library to the biggest kitchen I'd ever seen . All the appliances were spotless , with every cabinet stuffed full of all of my favorite foods and snacks . I smiled at Damien , shaking my head . " Sometimes I swear you know me better than I know myself . " 2 He chuckled as he squeezed my hand softly , before pulling me into his arms . " I know nearly all there is to know about you , kitten . But now it's your turn . " " How so ? " I asked him , curiously as I walked back out into the hall , and up the left side of the stairs . " You said you want to get to know me , I imagine this is why you've been asking so many questions . Then again , knowing what a curious girl you are , these are likely questions you've wanted to ask for years . " He said , walking beside me as I looked into the first door in the hallway once we reached the top of the steps . This room was an office , with another desk made of the same material as his office building . I skipped the door in the center and looked into the room to the right , this was a bedroom . It was a huge room with a door leading to a balcony , it had a big canopy bed , bigger than any bed I'd seen before . It was a pretty bare room , with not many decorations . I knew this was Damien's room , it's not like a vampire had much use for a bedroom he would rarely use . I closed the door and turned to him , suddenly realizing how tired I was . " How did you know to skip your bedroom ? " He asked me as we walked to the room in the center of the hall . " As soon as I saw the three doors , and the one on the left was your office , I knew the one in the center would be mine . No matter if you were in your room , or your office , I would still be right next to you . " I said as I opened my bedroom door . " I nodded and climbed into bed , letting him pull the covers over me . He started to stand and leave , but I jumped up and took his hand in mine , stopping him . " Will you stay , please ? " I asked him , looking up into his eyes . " If you wish . " He responded , taking off his shoes before laying in bed next to me , pulling me into his arms . 14 4 I turned his face towards mine , then brought my lips to his .
