---- Chapter 8 I shook my head in disagreement. "I don't have a mother. Even if I left the orphanage and was adopted, I still didn't have a family." I did not know if I was saying that to Ted or myself. Ted suddenly slapped his lap. "Oh! I suddenly remembered something!" I looked at him with a cocked head. He looked at me excitedly and asked, "What if you could find your real parents?" "Where would I find them? I don't even remember what they looked like." Besides, I could not remember how I ended up in the orphanage. Ted was silent as he excitedly scrolled through his phone. "Look at this man. Doesn't he look like you?" ---- He handed me the phone. I jumped when I saw the photo. It was a middle-aged man, and I looked very much like him. "Who is this?" Ted's eyes gleamed with excitement. "My family has businesses abroad, and my father has deals with him. He brought me there once. I thought he was really familiar when I saw him, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I finally remembered why he looked so familiar!" He held me by my shoulders, so hard it almost crushed me. "He could be your father!" I was amused. "How could a wealthy businessman be my father?" Ted grabbed my hand and pulled me along. "I'll take you to him!" I was scared half to death. I retreated and replied, ''No, come on, Mr. Kirk, ---- don't joke around. It's too sudden." Ted stopped in his tracks. He thought for a while before taking a seat once more and making a phone call. After a few phone calls, he smiled in relief. "I've asked to meet this evening at seven. It's a good thing he's here. You two should meet." I did not want to get my hopes up, but since Ted was so sincere in helping me, I could not say no to him. Life was always full of surprises. When the man, Dylan Rosswell, saw me, he was so stunned he sprang up from his chair. I looked so much like him. He said that my voice sounded like his late wife's. Thus, we took a DNA test. Waiting anxiously, we finally got the test results. "You're really my daughter!" Dylan cried.
