Today I was doing what I’ve been doing for the past few days during my ‘off hours’. Which isn’t even really off hours, since I’m still doing work. I was watching over the adventuring tournament qualifiers. Someone had to monitor them, and while my monsters can do it, it is actually quite enjoyable to watch so whenever I have the time, I just sit in the Factory monitoring the stuff. Because of that, when a System Agent appeared in the Factory, it took no time for me to have us in the Factory meeting room I made for the times when the Agents give me info that I don’t want leaking. Today the agent of choice was Joan. She wanted to see a few things in the Factory, and she also had some fissure info for me. I asked for the fissure info first, since we were already in the meeting room. “Two, huh? Is it just me or are there more fissures nowadays compared to a year ago?” I asked. “Sadly yes. Every time a fissure opens it weakens the barrier in a wider area. And while your Exodia does a fantastic job at patching the barrier, there are some problems.” Joan said. “The patch is stronger than most of the barrier, so some other areas are under slightly more drain, which weakens the barrier faster, thus we experience fissures more often. And it will get even worse until we find a permanent solution.” “Too bad my Gods can’t fix it all.” I sighed. I really wish my cards could just cheat it for me, but even they have their limits. Maybe if I had access to Holactie, but that card was only released in Japan. And I haven’t gotten access to anything that wasn’t imported into the TCG. “Have you tried to make a more powerful one?” Joan asked. “You have that chaos god, perhaps you could work based off of that?” “Yeah, I tried making one based on Numerounius Numerounia, but it didn’t work. Imaginary Numbers are too difficult to work with. Maybe after I unlock the ability to freely make them with the Numeron Code…” I told her. As I said, I’ve tried making some rank 13 monsters, but most of them aren’t usable. Either the cards burn themselves when I try to make the monster, or it ends up being a terrible mess that isn’t worth using. For example, I tried making chaos versions of both Number 93 and 99, but both of those ended up with a terrible monster that was worse than the base. I also just tried to make an Xyz monster that isn’t a Number monster, nor a CXyz monster, but again, all I got out of it was a weak mess of a monster that isn’t worth summoning. And the attempts at making a more powerful one burned out. “Speaking of. Since you allowed it, I looked over what that Numeron Code can do. And if it can perform large-scale reality manipulation, it can fix the barrier.” “Yeah, but that will take a while. Actually, I don’t even think all 100 of the Number monsters have been made. So we would be looking at getting cards that haven’t been released yet at the time I was transported to this world. Which do exist, I’ve gotten some. But it will take a while until I get the Numeron Code to where it needs to be. And even after that, I have only the most basic of basic knowledge on the dimensional barrier, and since I’d have to be the one to use the Code to fix the barrier, it will take even more time before we get to that. But yes, it is an option.” “... I see. Well, I hope you continue to do your best.” “Yeah. I will.” I promised. Afterwards I showed Joan a few places in the Factory. We mainly focused on the library towers, as well as the magic research room. … I never mentioned that, did I? I made a magic research room for Alice. She, and my other Spellcasters, use it when they are developing new spells. It really isn’t anything special, so that is why I probably never mentioned it. The next day I was heading out to the first of the two fissures. The other will be in a few days, so I’ll cover it and the set it gives next time. The fissure today wasn’t optimal, as it was really close to a tiny farming village. The village had about 20 houses, and only about 50 people living there, so the best choice was to evacuate all of them. We also ‘dug up’ their houses and I stored them in Storage. I say dug up because we literally did so. Alice used Earth Magic to separate the earth itself so that I could store the buildings with the ground below them. With minimal foundations and no plumbing, that was no problem. Oh, and now might be a good time to mention that I brought the entire Card Venturers team with me. Since we are in a small village that only has a basic wooden fence, and forest beyond it, I was afraid that some of the local monsters would evolve because of the fissure. So I made sure I had extra hands available. Unika and Alice would be the ones actually taking care of any S-ranks, and Caillie was with the villagers, singing them songs to keep them calm. For the fissure, after I opened it up, it popped out a massive snake that was covered in leaves. It was easily SS-rank in size, but the System didn’t even know what it was, as this was apparently the first recorded instance of such a monster. Surprisingly, the snake didn’t seem hostile, and instead it almost seemed to heal the nature around it. It was still filled with quite a bit of miasma, so it was dangerous, but it was using that miasma instead of letting it take over. I was legitimately interested in the snake, so I called Cailie to come over so she could purify some of the miasma so that I could try taming the snake. I could have tried it with the miasma still hanging onto the snake, but it would have been much more difficult. And Cailie has Purifying Winds for a reason. So after her winds carried away a lot of the miasma, I tamed the snake. I then used Miasma Control to protect it from the miasma still coming out of the open fissure. There were some other monsters born because of the fissure. It turned a few trees into treants, but the Card Venturers took care of them. Before we let the villagers back, and put the houses back in their places, I took my new snake into Tamer’s Paradise. Then we fixed the place up. The villagers were more than happy to see that everything was fine. And while they saw what happened, they probably didn’t realize that I tamed the snake, instead thanking me for killing it, probably assuming that I took the corpse into Storage like I did their houses. I told them that the snake wasn’t actually evil, instead being a nature snake that helped plants grow. It was easily proven by the fruit trees in the village, because despite their season already having passed, a lot of them were bearing fruit again. Because of that, we left the village with a massive pile of fresh fruit, and some of the village’s jam. We received it with gratitude and headed back to HomeBase. Now, before I get to the new set, I need to name someone. In two ways. The massive grass snake is a literal new race, so it needs a name. And I got the honor of naming it. I wanted to go with something nature based, since the snake is clearly nature aligned. And the name I gave to the race is Hege Natrix, or the Holy Nature Snake. Hege comes from Hegemone, the superior spirit of nature, and Natrix is a genus of snakes back on earth. It is basically the ‘European Snake’. I named mine Natrix, just to keep it simple, and since Natrix is the first one ever, I don’t think the snake cares that much. Now, let’s get to the new set. And that new set is Duelist Alliance. And like always, I’ll be opening 10 packs to see what this set contains. Cloudcastle; The Agent of Entropy - Uranus; Hippo Carnival; Superheavy Samurai Swordsman; U.A. Stadium; Metaphys Armed Dragon; Dracocension; Satellarknight Vega; Satellarknight Altair Superheavy Samurai? And Hippo Carnival? Does this mean that we’ve left the Zexal era and entered the Arc-V era? The Pendulum era? I think it does. Though admittedly I don’t remember if this set has any Pendulum monsters. It probably does, but there is always a chance Konami did something weird. But let’s get to the monsters. Cloudcastle is a great rank 9 enabler in a deck that summons level 9 Synchro monsters. The limit on what monsters can attack can also be useful sometimes. The Agent of Entropy - Uranus I just got the other day, since it is a Tuner that is level 5. This update ıs available on 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝓷𝓮𝓽 Hippo Carnival is fine. It is kind of like Scapegoat, but with different restrictions. Superheavy Samurai Swordsman is … okay. Reducing attack and defense to 0 is nice, but doing it at the end of the battle phase is often too late. U.A. Stadium is a pretty decent Field Spell. Metaphys Armed Dragon is just a vanilla, but 2800 attack is nice. Dracocension turns a dragon into a Wyrm. Satellarknight Vega specials a tellarknight from the hand when summoned. And Satellarknight Altair resurrects a tellarknight from the GY when summoned. Aria the Melodious Diva; Metaphys Armed Dragon; Deskbot 001; Fishborg Doctor; Performapal Hip Hippo; Artifact Chakram; U.A. Stadium; Hymn of Light; Satellarknight Altair Aria the Melodious Diva gives Melodious monsters both targeting and battle protection, so that is great. Deskbot 001 can gain a decent bit of attack, especially since I have 10 monster zones I can use. Fishborg Doctor specials itself from the GY. Performapal Hip Hippo gives you an additional normal summon, but only for a high leveled monster. Artifact Chakram I already had. And Hymn of Light is a ritual spell with a small bonus added to it, since you can banish it to protect a Ritual monster from destruction. Djinn Demolisher of Rituals; Artifact Chakram; Cloudcastle; Satellarknight Unukalhai; Yang Zing Unleashed; Curse of the Shadow Prison; Dracocension; Battleguard King; Satellarknight Altair Djinn Demolisher of Rituals is nice. Not as good as some of the other Djinns, but still great. Satellarknight Unukalhai mills a tellarknight. Yang Zing Unleashed forces stuff to attack and allows for a synchro summon on the opponent’s turn. Curse of the Shadow Prison is an attack lowering card. I prefer attack raising stuff, but this is also okay. It also allows for the use of opponent’s monsters as fusion material. And Battleguard King can attack multiple times with 3k attack, but you have to tribute a Warrior for each attack. Also, Altair. This is the third time. Stop showing up! That Six; Shaddoll Hedgehog; Battleguard King; Satellarknight Vega; Hymn of Light; Wightprince; Yang Zing Unleashed; Fishborg Doctor; Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss That Six would be so cheaty in any sort of dice game. Just alter the dice results to either 6 or 1. Shaddoll Hedgehog, like all main deck Shaddolls, I already had. Wightprince is great for TCG use, but pretty useless for me. I can just put stuff in the GY as I wish. And Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss can either special itself, or a Burning Abyss monster from the GY. Gaia, the Mid-Knight Sun; Wightprince; Sonata the Melodious Diva; Performapal Sword Fish; Artifact Lancea; U.A. Stadium; Gaia, the Polar Knight; Feast of the Wild LV5; Satellarknight Skybridge Gaia, the Mid-Knight Sun searches for a Dark Warrior. But you have to tribute a Light monster, and then discard a card. Just terrible. Sonata the Melodious Diva gives Fairy monsters a 500 attack and defense boost. Performapal Sword Fish can really cut down the attack and defense of opponents. Gaia, the Polar Knight is just as bad as Mid-Knight Sun. Feast of the Wild LV5 specials two level 5 Warriors from hand or GY, but their effects are negated. Still a pretty good card. And Satellarknight Skybridge special summons tellarknights from the deck. So it is automatically broken. Pop-Up; Number 58: Burner Visor; Shaddoll Hedgehog; Feast of the Wild LV5; Artifact Chakram; Resonance Insect; Metaphys Armed Dragon; Chain Dispel; Shaddoll Dragon Pop-Up can activate a Field Spell from the deck. Which means it should be able to get me new random Field Spells. So … that might be busted. If it works. Actually, do I have Metaverse already? Because it can activate a Field Spell from the deck as well. I need to check at some point. Number 58: Burner Visor is not the greatest. It equips itself to another monster and allows that monster to attack directly. Resonance Insect either searches or mills an Insect. Chain Dispel is potentially busted, depending on how it interacts with a person. And Shaddoll Dragon I already had. Hymn of Light; Shaddoll Hedgehog; Resonance Insect; Dracocension; Spy-C-Spy; Yang Zing Prana; Artifact Lancea; Pop-Up; Shaddoll Beast Spy-C-Spy is basically useless. As far as the card effect goes. But as a beautiful female who has espionage training, I think I can put her to use. Assuming that I get the lady and not the man with the cigarette. Also, isn’t Spy-C-Spy like one of the most censored cards in the TCG, or do I remember that wrong? Luckily Pack Opener mostly uses the TCG art, so I don’t have to worry about that. Yang Zing Prana does a handful of things, the first two being the better effects for me. And Shaddoll Beast I already had. Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness; Shaddoll Hedgehog; That Six; The Monarchs Stormforth; Number 58: Burner Visor; Superheavy Samurai Blue Brawler; Cloudcastle; Shaddoll Beast; Pendulum Back Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness has a stupid name, but it does special summon itself. The Monarchs Stormforth is good. I can just tribute away problematic things with it. Superheavy Samurai Blue Brawler has 2k defense and cannot be destroyed by battle. And Pendulum Back can recover 2 monsters from the GY. It is also the first higher rarity card from the set. Hopefully I can get 1 more in the last two packs. Deskbot 001; Artifact Chakram; Number 58: Burner Visor; Fishborg Doctor; Performapal Hip Hippo; Metaphys Armed Dragon; Yang Zing Unleashed; U.A. Stadium; Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss specials Burning Abyss monsters from the deck. Do you need to know more? Next, and last, pack. Shaddoll Hedgehog; Re-Cover; Battleguard Howling; Artifact Chakram; Wightprince; Yang Zing Prana; Superheavy Samurai Swordsman; Satellarknight Deneb; Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei Re-Cover can special itself from the GY, but I’ll probably never be in a situation where it will be able to activate. Battleguard Howling can do some okay burn damage, and even returns a monster to the hand. Satellarknight Deneb searches when summoned. And Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei I already had. Pretty sure I got it from the Synchro challenge. But yeah. That was the first 10 of Duelist Alliance. Zero Pendulum monsters, so maybe this set really doesn’t have any. But it does have Pendulum Back so that would be strange. Maybe it only has a few and they are all rare.
