Yeah, you already know what is coming today, but before the next fissure, I think I’ll talk a bit more about my newest tame, Hege Natrix, the Holy Nature Snake. But it goes by Natrix. Okay, let’s start with the rank. Yes, Hege Natrix is an SS-rank monster. I kind of said it before, but never confirmed it, so let’s just get that out of the way. Second, while the SS-rank variant is new to the System, there have been some B-rank nature attributed snake-like monsters. They are called Ivy Snakes as they are basically moving ivy. And we believe that they are a ‘pre-evolution’ of Hege Natrix. Natrix is the same, as in a moving plant. It doesn’t actually have a gender. It is a plant, in most ways. Just a plant that has some animal-like cells, but still mostly composed of plant-like cells. It isn’t quite like a treant, which is all plant cells, but yeah. Natrix also can’t reproduce like animals do, so it isn’t an ‘animal monster’. And thus doesn’t have a gender. Admittedly I’m not at all sure if Natrix can reproduce at all. Maybe it can by pollination, or maybe it can even do it asexually. As for Natrix’s skills, well, it is amazing at Nature Magic, as I realized during the fissure. And just it being near plants makes them grow faster, as the snake has an aura that causes plant growth. Wilma actually confirmed that with Appraisal. Natrix literally has an ability called ‘Nature’s Aura’ which makes plants near it grow faster. And that skill can be enhanced by focusing mana on it. The reason I call it an ‘ability’ and not a skill is because it is how the System calls monsters’ skills. Only System holders have skills, other things have abilities. But they are basically the same thing. Natrix can also use Earth, Water and Light Magic, as is kind of expected of a SS-rank monster, and it has some hiding related skills like Hiding and Camouflage. Now, you might ask if I’ve done a reverse union with Natrix, and the answer is not yet. I will eventually, but I want the snake to get used to me before I go for that. It can be a little intensive. And one last thing. Natrix found his home roaming the HomeBase forest floors. That is floors 36 to 41, the ones filled with treants of different attributes. But the snake sleeps on the CropFields floor, just to help the plant growth there with its skill. The CropFields also get better sunlight than the treant forests. But because of its size, Natrix can’t really roam there, thus the access to some of the lower floors. Also, the way the snake gets to the lower floors is by a portal I made for him. I used the same tech that is used for the stabilized dimensional portal, but it was much easier since this is just a short range non-dimensional one, and it is all contained within HomeBase. The portal only opens for Natrix, myself and my fiancées, so no one else can use it. Well Agunan can, but that is because he is the Dungeon Master of HomeBase. And Agunan can already freely teleport within HomeBase because of his terminal. But now, let’s head to the next fissure area and take care of that. Luckily this time we were pretty far from any cities or towns. There was a road running not too far from the fissure, so I again brought the Card Venturers with us, just in case anyone was on the road. Don’t want them getting attacked by stray monsters. But because we weren’t near any settlements, it was just me and the Venturers. So when I saw multiple A-rank sword-horn bulls coming out of the fissure, I quickly got to work. I did consider leaving them to the Venturers, but sword-horn bulls taste great, so I wanted to get them killed cleanly. And while the Venturers can do it, I’m faster. So I pulled out Errelitea and used Spacial Rend to separate the bulls’ heads from their bodies, taking their HP down to 0 in an instant. But even after the herd of bulls, the fissure wasn’t done. More cow-like monsters came out, but just B-ranks, so I called the Venturers over to take them down. And after Exodia closed the fissure, we spent a bit of time cleaning up the place. Nothing crazy happened, but still better to clean up the hoof marks from the cows. Don’t want some random adventurers or merchants panicking if they see them. Even though I’ll report this to the closest guild masters. Actually I already sent them a report, as their fissure detectors went off today. But that is just the boring stuff. We have something more interesting. A new set. That set is The New Challengers. And we are jumping straight into the packs. Really hoping for some Pendulum monsters this time, since I didn’t get any last time. Ms. Judge; Shogi Lance; Strike of the Monarchs; Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor; Cursed Bamboo Sword; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Scrounging Goblin; Laser Qlip; Fluffal Dog Ms. Judge isn’t that great as a monster, but considering that she is a judge, she might be useful in HomeBase. And I mean the negation is nice, just not reliable enough. Shogi Lance is a decent Xyz material for some high rank summons. Strike of the Monarchs isn’t really worth it since I’d have to sacrifice a tribute summoned monster for it. I have easier effect negaters. Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor is fine. There are better cards to make monsters battle destruction immune. There is also the burn damage, which can do quite a lot. Cursed Bamboo Sword searches other Bamboo Swords. Elegy the Melodious Diva is nice. Protection from card effects, aka. magic, and a 300 attack boost. Scrounging Goblin is interesting, but not that great for my use. Laser Qlip means that we have Qlis. I love that archetype, even if it got nuked by master rule 4. Laser Qlip itself is sadly pretty much useless for me. And Fluffal Dog is nice. I can get sabres or a different Fluffal with it. Also, I might want to consider making Fluffal based plushes. The Factory doesn’t currently have many child visitors, but maybe eventually it will. And when they see the Fluffals, they’ll probably want some. Especially if I can make them cheap. Watch Dog; Canon the Melodious Diva; Laser Qlip; Superheavy Samurai Soulshield Wall; Yang Zing Brutality; Serenade the Melodious Diva; The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil; Unmasked Dragon; Number 39: Utopia Beyond Watch Dog. Holy dogs. First of all, what are your stats? Why is a massive fire dog 0/0? Just asking. Second, you are broken! You can set a Continuous Spell Card from the deck. Which means I can get stuff I don’t have access to! Watch Dog is clearly a good boy. Canon the Melodious Diva specials itself. Superheavy Samurai Soulshield Wall is a decent defense boost, and it can also set up for the Soulbreaker Armor’s burn effect. Yang Zing Brutality is meh. I can just summon a stronger monster instead of relying on something . Serenade the Melodious Diva acts as two tributes and allows for an additional normal summon. The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil can give an attack boost, and can also summon itself as a normal monster. Unmasked Dragon brings up a good point. I’ve had these ‘generic’ battle floaters since … basically forever. Why did I never abuse them to get the busted stuff? Actually, I know the answer. I assumed they’d need me to ‘target’ a monster from the available sets, instead of them just randomly summoning stuff. But I really should use them at some point, just so I can get some of the ‘weak’ monsters they can get. Because some of those weak monsters can get me some of the more powerful stuff. And Number 39: Utopia Beyond I already had. Qlipper Launch; Strike of the Monarchs; U.A. Powered Jersey; SZW - Fenrir Sword; Fluffal Leo; Shogi Lance; Satellarknight Procyon; Ruffian Railcar; U.A. Goalkeeper Qlipper Launch is good protection and also a small attack boost. U.A. Powered Jersey is a nice attack boost, double attacking and doubled battle damage. But at the cost of the monster being banished during your standby phase. SZW - Fenrir Sword is fine. Not the best Zexal Weapon out there, but it does a decent job. Fluffal Leo gains 500 attack when attacking. Satellarknight Procyon discards a tellarknight to draw a card. Ruffian Railcar searches level 10 Earth Machines. The burn damage doesn’t matter. And U.A. Goalkeeper is decent. Good defense and can make a different monster indestructible for the turn. Spoiler Latest content publıshed on 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭⟡𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦⟡𝘯𝘦𝘵 Scrounging Goblin; Serenade the Melodious Diva; Deskbot 002; Wonder Balloons; Mimiclay; Fluffal Leo; Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon; Frightfur Bear; Edge Imp Sabres Deskbot 002 can search for Deskbots and gives Machines a 500 attack boost. Wonder Balloons sucks, even if I can easily just discard like 20 cards for it. Mimiclay summons a copy of a monster I control from the deck. So it can get additional copies of cards, but can’t get new stuff. Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon is again fine. 1000 defense boost is good, but the GY banishing effect is a bit too self destructive. Frightfur Bear has a decent attack and can gain even more. And Edge Imp Sabres special summons itself. Also, TCG. Are scissors really so dangerous that we can’t have Edge Imp Scissors? Scrounging Goblin; Valerifawn, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Shogi Lance; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Hexatellarknight; Wonder Balloons; U.A. Powered Jersey; Naturia Sacred Tree; Edge Imp Sabres Valerifawn, Mystical Beast of the Forest is adorable. The effect is meh, but that doesn’t matter when you have a cute bambi. Hexatellarknight gives an okay attack boost, and can be used to negate attacks. And Naturia Sacred Tree is fine. Trading stuff for other stuff is nice. And as I’ve said many times, special summoning from the deck is busted. Serenade the Melodious Diva; Block Spider; Command Performance; Magical Star Illusion; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Mimiclay; Satellarknight Procyon; U.A. Powered Jersey; Shopina the Melodious Maestra Block Spider can make a Block Spider lock. And quite easily at that. Command Performance is just a mass battle position switcher. Magical Star Illusion is a situational attack boost, but I have better cards for that. And Shopina the Melodious Maestra recovers Light Fairies from the GY. Wonder Balloons; Different Dimension Encounter; Strike of the Monarchs; U.A. Powered Jersey; Laser Qlip; Lindbloom; Serenade the Melodious Diva; Cursed Bamboo Sword; Draw Muscle Different Dimension Encounter is situational and I can just use stuff like Dimension Fusion. Lindbloom just gives a monster ability to attack using its defense stat. And Draw Muscle is nice. Sure it is situational, but a draw 1 and battle immunity in one effect is good. Superheavy Samurai Soulshield Wall; Fusion Substitute; Canon the Melodious Diva; Gogogo Goram; Superheavy Samurai Kabuto; Magical Star Illusion; Wonder Balloons; Performapal Revival; Calcab, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss Fusion Substitute is … a different kind of Polymerization. I mean it is decent, but the GY effect is actually more useful for me than the fusion summoning effect. I can just use regular Poly for fusion summoning. Gogogo Goram has a good attack stat for a level 4. But it changes to defense position when summoned. Superheavy Samurai Kabuto changes all your Superheavy Samurais to defense and gives them 500 defense boost for the turn. Performapal Revival is exactly that. And Calcab, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss does basically the same as every other Burning Abyss monster does. Guiding Light; Shogi Lance; Magical Star Illusion; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Command Performance; Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon; Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor; Wonder Balloons; U.A. Goalkeeper Guiding Light specials a level 1 Light monster from the GY. And that was the only new card in this pack, so on to the last pack of the day. Ms. Judge; U.A. Powered Jersey; Qlipper Launch; Satellarknight Betelgeuse; Toy Vendor; Lindbloom; Dododo Driver; Laser Qlip; Naturia Sacred Tree Satellarknight Betelgeuse sacrifices itself to recover a tellarknight from the GY. Which isn’t really worth it. Toy Vendor is fine, but not that worth. But it does remind me of Bingo Machine, Go. I want that card. What set was it printed in again? It wasn’t in the DSoD movie pack or Shining Victories, but came out later. Well, I’ll get it eventually. And Dododo Driver can level manipulate Dododo monsters. But yeah. That was The New Challengers. Qlis are cool. Don’t know which of them this set has, and if this has Towers or Skybase, but even just Stealth or Scout would be cool. Stealth might help advance the stealth tech we are using. But I’ll worry about that next time. And no, I’m not going to spoil myself by looking at the set list!
