---- Chapter 7 Leo was frantically searching through the den, but there wasn't much left to search. Most of the cabinets had already been emptied. I watched him from a nearby spot for a quarter of an hour as his wolf grew increasingly agitated. At 3 a.m., he barked into the phone at his assistant to come over. Soon the assistant arrived. Leo pointed at a cabinet and roared; "Where are the items that were in this cabinet?" The sleep-deprived assistant hesitated before responding, "Alpha, you instructed us to clear everything out..." Leo's outburst was silenced by those few words. The assistant arrived and departed, equally perplexed by the situation. Leo slumped to the floor, his gaze fixed on the diamond rings, his voice barely above a whisper: "This can't be ---- happening. Judy, even in death, you're still tormenting me." Sure enough, he was pinning the blame on me. My wolf was furious at first, then weak again, at the thought of how insane he was acting. I really wanted to know what exactly he was searching for. But I couldn't ask. I could only sit on the floor with him. He seemed completely out of it, eyes boring into those two diamond rings like he was trying to see something deeper. After a moment of stillness, Leo was suddenly rushed into action, dashing to the kitchen with so quickly, it shocked me. The fridge, untouched by the earlier clearing. They were filled with a batch of heart-shaped cream puffs I'd made, now visibly expired. They'd lost their shape, and the cream had ---- soured, but Leo devoured them greedily, shoving puff after puff into his mouth. When he couldn't eat another bite, he rushed to the sink and threw up everything he had just eaten. I stood frozen, shocked by how crazy he was acting. My wolf was confused. What was going on? Had he lost his mind? Then I heard him shout my name, fierce and desperate. "Judy, you're not allowed to die!" I never thought the kind of brainless, tales I heard about obsessive alphas would actually become reality. In the dead of night, Leo ran to a garbage dump near the house with his assistant in tow. A fearsome Alpha, digging through trash crazily, alongside his assistant as though searching for something was not a sight I thought I would see in my lifetime.
