---- Chapter 24 After handling the necessary matters, Eve was going back with Samuel to the Vittorine family's manor. The Vittorine family resided in Westston. After Eve and Samuel left the cemetery, they went back. The Vittorine family was another powerful mafia family. Samuel had already warned Eve that the internal conflicts within the Vittorine family were far more complex and dangerous than those of the Costa family. Although Eve had mentally prepared herself thoroughly, her face darkened the moment she saw Alina. Eve repeatedly confirmed that they were indeed at the Vittorine family's manor. Eve glanced at Samuel, whose eyes were filled with confusion and doubt as well. "Oh my, let me see who's back" Alina's sharp voice grated on Eve's ears. She was dressed in a garish sequin mini dress and clinging to Mr. Ryan Vittorine, Samuel's father, like a shadow. "Eve, are you here to congratulate me?" She deliberately flaunted the hand adorned with a ruby ring. "Mr. Vittorine just ---- proposed to me." Eve squinted. "You are fast." She nodded slightly, and her gaze swept over Ryan's withered arm. "However, Alina, it seems you've finally found your place. You and Ryan make quite the pair. And honestly, I'm not surprised. You and your mother have always had a knack for charming older gentlemen. Right?" Alina's face froze. On their way there, Samuel had already told Eve that he and Ryan never got along well, so Eve didn't have to respect Ryan, although he was Samuel's father. Ryan wanted to ruin Samuel, and that was why he married Eve, the daughter of his enemy, to Samuel. + Although it could facilitate cooperation between the two families on the surface, Ryan tried to disgust Samuel, who was out of Ryan's contol. Samuel suddenly said while staring directly at Ryan with blatant provocation, "Father, it seems your taste has deteriorated quite a bit while | was away." The wrinkles on Ryan's face twisted. "How dare you speak to me like that?" His withered hand patted Alina's leg, while he gazed ---- shamelessly at Eve's face with disapproval. "Alina is much funnier than your cold woman. At least she knows how to serve a man." Samuel was about to react, but Eve gently pressed his tense arm. She elegantly took a glass of champagne from a waiter's tray. "Dear Mr. Vittorine, if | remember correctly, the ruby around Alina's neck is a relic of Samuel's mother. Right?" Eve smiled slightly. "Aren't you afraid your deceased wife might haunt you at midnight after she saw your current mistress wearing it?" Ryan's face stiffened, and then he irritably waved his hand. "Enough!" He glared at Samuel. "Take your woman back to your bedroom." "Father, don't be angry." Samuel suddenly chuckled and wrapped his arm around Eve's waist. "We're just curious." His eyes swept over Alina and continued, "How an illegitimate daughter kicked out by the Costa family managed to sneak into the Vittorine family's manor." Alina was about to lash out in anger when the door was gently pushed open. A wave of sweet, cloying perfume wafted in first. "Wow, what a bustling scene!" A sultry voice resonated. Everyone turned to see Vickie standing at the door, dressed in ---- a provocative dress. "Mom!" Alina exclaimed in delight. "What brings you here?" Vickie walked over to Ryan, and her slender hand naturally rested on Ryan's withered arm. "| heard you are marrying into the Vittorine family. How could | not come to offer you congratulations?" As she lowered her head, her hair fell and revealed her charming nape. "! hope I'm not interrupting you, everyone." Ryan's anger visibly dissipated. He cleared his throat. "Since you're here, have a seat." Eve suddenly said in a sweet voice, "Vickie, is your heart condition better? Why not rest a few more days in the hospital?" Vickie looked up, and a fleeting coldness flashed in her eyes. But she quickly regained her gentle demeanor. "Thank you for being so concerned about me." She lightly patted her chest and said, "The doctor recommends | stay active, and here | am, visiting the Vittorine family's manor to see Alina."
