The officer from the Ormunda’s official army was called Captain Rengold. His title was different from Anton’s squad captain’s title since Captain Leonard’s title was only applicable within the “Special Forces” that was established by Ormunda. Although Captain Leonard insisted that after they completed a few missions successfully, the titles would be formally accepted by Ormunda’s official army. Anton did not know about that. He was wholly uninformed when it came to armies and titles, and he wasn’t interested in learning. Captain Renold was also an archmage, but he was also one of the best warriors in the army and was capable of assessing warriors. At least, that was what he said. Anton knew that the Ormunda’s hierarchy was mostly composed of wizards since Ormunda was a kingdom of wizards, so it was normal that almost all of the officers were wizards. The first person that Captain Renold tested was Captain Leonard. Anton could see that Captain Renold could have defeated Leonard in a few seconds, but since it was supposed to be testing each one of their capabilities, the fight lasted several minutes. Captain Leonard cast several spells, which were a combination of defensive, offensive, and support spells, consisting mostly of illusion spells, while Captain Renold only cast defensive spells and dispel spells towards the illusion that Leonard cast. Even though everyone knew that Captain Leonard would lose, they were all still impressed by their squad captain’s capabilities. Even Anton had to admit that he was wrong about Captain Leonard. He thought that Leonard would be all bark and no bite, but based on the fight between Captain Leonard and Captain Renold, Leonard was fully qualified to be a squad captain. After Captain Leonard was tested, each one of Squad 13 was tested except for Anton. Captain Leonard looked like he wasn’t surprised at that outcome, but of course, the other members started asking questions regarding that move since they knew that Anton was an archmage, and they wanted to see his capabilities. “Anton is a very powerful archmage and is capable of clearing the 65th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon alone. I couldn’t even clear the 50th floor together with a powerful group. I thought everyone in your squad knew that already?” Captain Rengold said. “Everyone knows that Anton is an archmage, but I haven’t shared with anyone yet that he was capable of clearing the deep floors of a high-level dungeon alone. I planned to share that information later when it was time for us to share our abilities with each other,” Captain Leonard said. Everyone in Squad 13 looked flabbergasted upon learning that Anton was a truly capable wizard. Some of the members who were knowledgeable about the actual situation with the Undead Coalition, like Menard and Charlie, looked positively gleeful to learn that there was a truly powerful wizard among them, because it was somewhat of a guarantee that their squad could survive compared to others. After the testing was over, Captain Leonard had written extensive notes regarding the skills that each member of his squad had shown. The only one that did not have any details was Anton’s. Captain Rengold said goodbye and left. “Everyone, go ahead and take a shower. I’ll give you all 30 minutes, and after that, return to the meeting room so we can talk about the abilities that we can use to fight the undead,” Captain Leonard announced. When Anton and the rest of the squad's 13 members entered, they saw that the chairs were arranged in a circle setting, and with Captain Leonard’s command, everyone took a chair. When everyone had settled down, Captain Leonard spoke first. “I have some details regarding each of our abilities, except for Anton, so this meeting is about him sharing more about his abilities and expanding each of our capabilities. I know that sharing this information with others is intrusive, but during this mission, we can only depend on each other for survival, and holding out might endanger our lives. Tomorrow, we will be going into the Beginner dungeon’s 30th floor to fight dungeon monsters, so I can access our skills in real time against actual enemies. Then we can form our first strategy. So go ahead, Anton. Please start.” “Well, you all know that I’m an archmage soon to reach supreme rank. I’m extremely powerful. The only reason they did not put me in as an officer was that I requested to be an ordinary squad member. I just want to fight. I can fly nonstop using my spell. I can cast powerful area of effect spells. One of my favorite spells is called Frozen Orb, wherein I summon a globe of ice towards enemies, and that globe of ice will explode, causing all enemies to be devastated by powerful ice bolts. If the enemy doesn’t die, they would suffer extreme slowness due to the cold.” “I wish we were in the training room so you could demonstrate!” Suvina, the priestess said. “As I’ve said, we will be going into the beginner dungeon either by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and that’s the time that Anton can demonstrate to us his spell-casting abilities,” Captain Leonard said. “I can cast Ice spells, Fire spells, Lightning spells, and my Telekinesis spell is extremely powerful. That’s the one that I use to fly. I can summon meteors, tornadoes, and Fire Hydras,” Anton added. Even though Captain Leonard said that each one of them should be very open when it came to their skills, Anton couldn’t simply share everything with them because if he did, it might cause sensation and could affect their squad. Not only that, but because of his power, his squad member might become severely dependent on him. Ultimately, Anton knew that his squad would learn how truly powerful he was as soon as they were deep in battle with the Undead Coalition, but that was then. “Since we all know that Anton was extremely powerful, during our dungeon delve, he would only demonstrate his spells, and after I’ve taken notes, the rest of the dungeon fight would be conducted by everyone else. Understood?” Captain Leonard said, and everyone nodded their understanding. Anton gave some more description of the spells that he could cast, and after that, each one of the squad members did their turn in describing the spells and abilities they could use. What truly surprised Anton was how limited Suvina and Charlie’s healing spells were. Their skills were a combination of heals and buffs, and all in all, the two of them could heal a total of ten times, which, in hindsight, might be enough. Even if it wasn’t, Anton wouldn’t let his squad member die and would heal them using his Prayer Aura if they got injured. The meeting lasted for the rest of the day, and during dinner, Anton could see that each one of them had gotten closer to each other already. Even Captain Leonard loosened up and joined them in their fun camaraderie. He finally admitted, before everyone dispersed, that he was worried that Anton would undermine his authority due to how powerful Anton was; he could not have done anything about that, but since Anton was very agreeable and humble, his worries came to rest. The next day, everyone learned that they wouldn’t be going into the dungeon since, apparently, there was already a schedule for dungeon delving, which would be the day after tomorrow. Anton was highly surprised to learn that the day would be spent with them, learning from teachers from the army. He knew then that they would be bombarded by some sort of Army rules and etiquette.
