Anton and the rest of the Squad 13 members, maybe except for Captain Leonard, were bored during the two days before they were supposed to delve into the Beginner Dungeon. After their morning exercise and breakfast, their time was filled with lessons. Lessons about Ormunda’s hierarchy, noble etiquette, army etiquette, and more. There was even a Good Moral and Hygiene lesson, which flabbergasted not only Anton, but everyone else, for that matter. That lesson was exceedingly graphic and, in Anton’s opinion, idiotic. The Good Moral and Hygiene lesson covered everything from how to behave towards the elderly to how to clean your private parts. That lesson caused everyone to get severely embarrassed because it was idiotically extensive and separated into genders, but taught to everyone at the same time. All of the lessons from Ormunda lasted from after breakfast until late in the afternoon for two days. It was as if the higher-ups of Ormunda wanted to cram years of lessons into their newly recruited “Special Forces”. The only reason that Anton, and everyone else, for that matter, possibly except Captain Leonard, did not go into rage mode and rage quit was the promise that it would only take two days. So everyone was thankful when the fourth day of their training arrived. The lessons were over, and they were now moving on to what everyone considered the most interesting part of the training. Extensively knowing each other's abilities through delving into the dungeon so that their Captain could form some sort of team strategy against all types of enemies. Anton’s squad arrived at the Beginner Dungeon early. There was a veritable army with them, so it was expected that the process of entering the dungeon would be longer than normal. Based on what Anton had learned, there were around 1200 squads, and this was only what they called the first phase. No one knew how many phases it would take, but Anton had an inkling that the phases would be never-ending since, according to Captain Leonard, Ormunda would recruit nonstop until the Undead Coalition crisis was over. Anton could only shake his head regarding all of the hullabaloo that was going on. Everyone was already aware that the Undead Coalition was aggressive in its mindless conquering of its surrounding area. If the powers that be had worked together earlier, it would not have arrived at this situation. Of course, he knew that those who were in power were not actually together, and probably due to the self-interested and narcissistic tendency of the powerful, they wouldn’t care what happened on the other side of the ocean. They would only start caring once the issue was near their doorstep. Once Anton’s squad entered the 30th floor of the Beginner Dungeon, wherein they had to wait for two hours before it was their turn. “Finally, we’re inside!” Menard sighed. “I didn’t mind waiting. At least we can talk to each other to pass the time,” Suvina said. “Since we’ve already talked about this, the first few groups of enemies will be handled by Anton, since I really need to know his spellcasting abilities so I can integrate him into the group strategy plan,” Captain Leonard announced. The floor they stumbled into was the typical cavern-type setting. The first group of enemies they chanced upon was a group of kobolds riding dire bears. There were around ten of them, and the moment the monsters saw their group of 11 people, the dungeon mob surged toward their direction. Newest update provıded by 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦•𝘯𝘦𝘵 Since they already had an understanding, Anton walked forward and cast a single Frozen Orb. The Frozen Orb flew to the middle of the kobold riders and exploded among them. That single Frozen Orb devastated the monsters, and not one of them survived. “That’s the Frozen Orb spell,” Anton told Captain Leonard. Everyone’s eyes were wide when they saw how deadly the spell was. “How many Frozen Orb spells can you cast in a single battle if the battle is longer than usual?” Captain Leonard asked. “I can cast it instantly non-stop,” Anton simply replied, which caused everyone to gasp. “You’re not an archmage! I’m thinking you’re already a Supreme Wizard!” Suvina shouted. Anton just shrugged and said that according to the rank identifier, his rank was still archmage. The second group of monsters they encountered was the dungeon staple, Giant Spiders. There were eight of the said monsters, and Anton cast a single Meteor, and that was enough to destroy all eight of the giant spiders. Anton demonstrated his spells one by one until he told Captain Leonard that he had shown all that he would be showing that day. The captain and all of the other members of the squad, for that matter, already looked numb. “Are the higher-ups aware of your capabilities?” Captain Leonard asked. “Everyone should be. Everyone knew I could single-handedly conquer the 65th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon,” Anton answered. “Is it okay by you if I talk to the higher-ups regarding what I’ve seen? I simply can’t fathom how to include you on the team's combat strategy. Just you alone is already equal to an army!” Captain Leonard said. “I don’t mind. In fact, you can treat me as your second team and just form a strategy with the others. What you can do when we’re in battle is just point me towards the enemy, and with your command, I’ll destroy them,” Anton said. Anton saw the Captain’s eyes glitter with that statement. He knew that Captain was beginning to realize that treating Anton as his weapon would allow him to accumulate huge merit that he could use to further his position in Ormunda. “Well, since the higher-ups already knew, I don’t need to report it. I’ll just follow your suggestion and treat you as our team’s exclusive hidden weapon. Is that alright with you?” the captain asked, and Anton just said, “Sure,”. After that, it was the others' turn. Because they hadn’t seen the enemies able to respond to Anton’s attack even once, everyone mistakenly thought that the enemies were easy to kill, so when Captain Leonard said that it was Menard’s turn, Menard went ahead and attacked a group of Dire Wolves. Menard almost died and was rescued only when all of the members attacked together, except Anton, who used his Telekinesis to grab Menard back to them. Suvina started healing Menard while everyone did their best to destroy the twelve Dire Wolves. It took the whole group a while to kill off the monster, and Anton had to cast four Firebolts to kill four of the Dire Wolves. “Well, that was stupid of me to assume that our team was almost as powerful as Anton,” Captain Leonard said with an apologetic face. Everyone started laughing, including Menard, who was already healed fully by Suvina. They learned from that mistake and from then on the captain started strategizing with all of the squad members, excluding Anton, who was tasked to be an emergency caretaker of everyone. From then on, everyone behaved properly. They arranged themselves neatly with the tanks at the front line, the damage dealers in the middle of the group, and the support at the back. They stopped at noon to eat. When Anton saw everyone taking out some sort of meat jerky and water, he announced to everyone that he would take care of lunch as a treat for their first dungeon delve. Anton retrieved three of his Firewalls stoves and started cooking. He prepared simple recipes like stir-fried beef with vegetables, steamed rice, grilled pork, and some of the fruit juice that came from the manor. It took him less than an hour to prepare all the food since he had several stoves going on at once. The whole group devoured the food, exclaiming how lucky they were to have someone who could cook.
