Chapter 8 Upon hearing Connor's question, Julie shyly lowered her head and replied, "You see, we both had too much to drink at the bar that night. Have you forgotten, Connor?" Connor smiled faintly, replying, "I certainly haven't forgotten that night. I recall that you were the only one drunk that night, though. I was sober the whole time." Upon hearing that, Julie's eyes immediately lit up, thinking that Connor had been sober and had deliberately chosen to sleep with her that night. "Is that so? You were actually sober that night, huh? I thought-" Julie couldn't help but smile shyly at that thought, but what Connor said next left her completely stunned. "It was precisely because I was fully sober that I knew for a fact I wasn't with you that night." Immediately, Julie shook her head, looking deathly pale. "T-That can't be true. You were obviously drunk that night, Connor. You probably don't remember what happened." "How are you so sure that I was drunk that night?" Connor asked. "I..." Julie trailed off, suddenly at a loss for words. She was the one who had slipped something into Connor's drink that night, after all. She then bit her lip and glared at me furiously. "What scheme are you pulling now, Queenie? Did you tell Connor something to turn him against me?" I couldn't believe that she could still find a way to pin this on me. "I only got pregnant with Connor's baby because he was drugged, and I was there to help with his 'predicament.' So, since you said Connor was drunk that night, it was clearly you who drugged him." Upon hearing that, Julie immediately retorted, "You're spewing nonsense! You're the one who did something so disgusting, so don't try to turn this around and blame it on me!" "If you're not going to admit it, then I'm going to have to bring out the evidence." Hearing those words, Julie faltered briefly, a trace of guilt flickering in her expression. She quickly regained her composure and "You'r not going to fool me with that little act of yours, Queenie." laughed it off, sale .even foota I cocked my brow in response. I was happy to oblige since she didn't believe me. I walked past her and went straight to the group of online influencers. I then opened my phone and pulled up the surveillance footage. Julie thought she had pulled off a perfect crime, but she had been caught on camera long before. Did she really think no one was watching Connor's every movement, especially given how he was Brookhaven's heir? In the footage, it clearly showed Julie slipping something into Connor's drink just as she was walking past him at the bar. She then stayed in the background, keeping a close eye on him. Upon seeing the footage, the online users began to doubt their earlier assumptions. "Does this mean Julie was the one who drugged Mr. Greene?" "It just keeps getting crazier. I'm holding off on any opinions until we see how this plays out." Upon seeing this, Julie immediately yanked me aside, exclaiming, "You edited that footage, Queenie! You're spreading lies here!" Just as she said that, Connor interjected, "I was the one who obtained this footage. Do you really think I'd try to frame you?" Upon hearing that, Julie swayed on her feet, her complexion losing all color. She fell completely silent, biting her lip with her head bowed. Support Share 2
