---- Chapter 8 When Dean finished his work and stepped out of the study, Erin hurried over to him. "Dean, | need to talk to you," Erin said. Dean looked at Erin seriously and listened to her while slightly frowning. "The doctor just examined me and told me that | might have fewer moments of clarity in the future. Her cousin in a white coat nodded in agreement beside them. Dean felt regret and realized that he had been so caught up in his anger that day and that he had forgotten Erin was still a patient. He was about to offer some comforting words when Erin interrupted him. "I was thinking you might give the shares and the house to Amy now? You promised her back then. If she ever gets bullied in the future, at least she'll have some security." Dean frowned more tightly. "Amy is still a little girl. Why are you in such a rush to bring this up now? | promise that I'll always be here to look out for her." With that, Dean seemed to notice something. Before Erin could say anything else, he strode towards the coffee room. ---- Dean clutched a flash drive tightly and went back to his bedroom quickly. Then he locked the door behind him. It was Eliana's flash drive, and she never parted with it or allowed him to see the content in it. She told him that it contained important things. Dean recalled the guy at the wedding during the day, who confidently held Eliana's shoulder and announced that they were getting married. Eliana hadn't refuted or pushed that guy away. Dean felt a bit uneasy about it. He was angrier and more curious. What exactly was their relationship? Perhaps he could find the answer on the flash drive. Taking a deep breath, Dean inserted it into his computer. To his surprise, there were only three videos on it. He clicked on the first one. The screen filled with a scene where he and Erin had sex As he focused on the video, his eyes widened in shock. He felt a jolt of shock through his body. ---- It was a surveillance video of him and Erin having sex in the wedding room of Eliana and him. His hands grew cold as he tremblingly clicked on the second video. It showed footage from the day Erin first moved into his villa, captured by the camera on the balcony. In the video, Amy eagerly invited Eliana to the balcony to look at the flowers. When Eliana was caught off guard, Amy suddenly pushed Eliana off the balcony. Dean could hardly believe his eyes. Amy was only three years old, but she harbored such malicious intent. He recalled the conversation he had with Eliana at the hospital that day. How desperate Eliana must have felt when he told her to treat Amy as her daughter in the future! Dean began to regret why he had ever believed the stories Erin and her daughter had made up. Why hadn't he trusted Eliana? Why hadn't he investigated it? ---- A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts, and Erin's gentle voice sounded from outside. "Dean, dinner is ready." Dean took a deep breath and tried to keep his voice calm. "You have dinner now. I'll join you later." Only after the sounds from outside faded did Dean click on the third video. In it, Erin was on the balcony and forcefully bruising Amy's arms. Amy clenched her teeth and tried not to cry out. Erin haphazardly wiped Amy's tears away and said patiently, "If Daddy asks how you got these, you must tell him it was the bad woman who pinched you. Do you understand?" Amy nodded obediently and asked, "Will Daddy love me forever if | do as you said?" Dean felt as if he had been struck with a heavy blow. He was in a daze. He had believed Erin's lies and falsely accused Eliana. He had thrown Eliana into that hell to suffer. As the last video ended, the computer was suddenly hacked and connected to the real-time surveillance of the balcony. On the balcony, Erin's cousin, wearing a white coat, said, "| told you it will definitely make him suspicious to rush him to sign ---- the property transfer. Amy is only three, and Dean isn't a fool. He might be thinking that you have other motives in the bedroom right now." Erin rolled her eyes and said, "| had no choice but to take action. Amy isn't his daughter. If we wait a few more years, they will start looking less alike. He'll definitely start questioning things. | have to secure the shares and money early. So we will be truly safe." The woman in the white coat widened her eyes in shock. "Your Alzheimer's was a lie, and Amy is not his daughter. What else are you hiding?" They never knew that Dean was on the other end of the surveillance and heard their conversation clearly.
