---- Chapter 9 Dean trembled with rage as she slammed his laptop shut. He had never imagined in his wildest dreams that Erin would dare to concoct such an outrageous lie. Dean understood why that guy had deliberately mocked him with green ribbons at the wedding. That guy saw clearly that he was cheated on, but Dean was made to look like a fool by Erin. He had even postponed his wedding with Eliana for Erin and lost the baby in Eliana's belly. He was overwhelmed by grief and fury. He immediately opened the door of his room. When he learned that Eliana still hadn't come back, he was about to go and look for her. Eliana was an orphan with no other family or friends in this city. She had nowhere else to go but this villa. "Dean, dinner's ready. It's late. Where are you going?" Erin's voice was gentle as she naturally wrapped her arm ---- around Dean's. "I've thought it over carefully. Amy is still young and doesn't need those things. But she's reached school age, and she is only my daughter legally. If the school requires a guardian for any activities, it might be inconvenient for me to attend them." Dean suppressed his fury and tried to maintain a calm demeanor. "So what do you suggest?" "We get married, and you take her as your daughter officially." Dean's expression suddenly changed, and he gave a cold smile. "Erin, do you take me for a fool? How could she qualify as my daughter? Her father is unknown." With that, he shook off Erin directly. Erin's lower back hit the table and caused her to wince in pain. Dean was momentarily dazed and remembered he had pushed Eliana away that day. Just then, Erin's cousin, in her white gown, walked out of the bathroom and saw the scene. "How can you treat a patient like that? She's very weak right now." "A patient?" Dean gave a mocking smile. "You've got the gall to deceive me with Erin. But | don't have the time to deal with you now. Get lost." Her face turned pale, and she nervously clutched Erin's hand. "How did he find out? What should we do now? He won't let ---- me off." Erin impatiently shook off her cousin's hand. "It is all your fault, you idiot." After Dean left the villa, he headed straight for their marital house. He thought Eliana would most likely go there. The access code to the house had been changed, and he helplessly knocked on the door while repeatedly calling Eliana's name. A man in a bathrobe opened the door. He was obviously annoyed. Dean was furious as his eye turned red. He punched the man in the face. "Where's Eliana? Is she inside? Tell her to come out. "Are you out of your mind? | don't know anyone called Eliana." Dean was overwhelmed by rage at the idea that Eliana had brought another man into that house. He couldn't hear a word that guy said. The man was furious after he was punched for no reason. The two exchanged blows right at the doorstep. A woman inside heard the noise and immediately called the police. ---- At the police station, that man handed over the property deed to the police officer. "| bought this house a few days ago, and the transfer papers are complete. | don't know anyone named Eliana. This lunatic came to my house and attacked me. | defended myself." Dean looked at the unfamiliar couple before him and sobered up slightly. He remembered that Eliana had contacted a real estate agent to check on the house a few days ago. But he hadn't expected Eliana to act so quickly. Dean rubbed his eyes and felt so tired. He wanted to check the surveillance video he had watched in the bedroom. It dawned on him that Eliana had decided to sell the house after watching the surveillance footage. So on the very day he told Eliana to postpone the wedding, Eliana had watched the video where he and Erin had sex in their marital home. Dean felt a chill run through him. He wanted to see Eliana more eagerly. He quickly decided to resolve the issue with the new owner of the house with money. Leaving the police station, Dean called Richard. ---- The moment the call connected, Richard said to Dean excitedly, "I've found out who the guy is at the wedding. He's Asher Barton, the head of the Barton Group."
