Serena was jumping around joyfully. She was busy most of the time. For the past seven years, she had been revolving around Julian. Either dealing with matters of The Lawson Corporation and the Sheridan Family, traveling around for business, or taking care of the elderly at Moonlight Manor. Whenever she had any free time, she would use it to decorate their home meticulously and learn some skills. She rarely went out to play with Bianca, like when they were kids. Visits to PIH were even rarer. Now that she came occasionally, it felt okay. However, she didn’t really enjoy this noisy atmosphere that much, so once in a while was enough, and there was no need to come often. As she was thinking about it, someone suddenly grabbed her arm. Serena frowned and looked over... Julian’s lips were tightly pressed, and he looked extremely angry. Serena immediately struggled, but Julian forcefully dragged her toward the outside of the dance floor. Jasper had gone to get drinks and wasn’t around at the moment. Julian forcibly pulled Serena into the nearby corridor. "What are you doing, Julian, let me go!" Serena forcefully swung her hands, finally freeing herself from Julian’s grip. The lights in PIH were dim, and Julian’s expression was stormy. "What are you doing here?" his voice was filled with restrained anger. Serena didn’t want to talk to him and turned to leave. The next moment, Julian grabbed her wrist again, which Serena immediately shook off. "What’s it to you if I’m here?" Serena frowned, keeping a certain distance from Julian, saying, "Don’t touch me." "What’s it to me?" Julian repeated Serena’s words, almost laughing in anger, "Serena, don’t forget your identity!" "What identity?" Serena laughed coldly, retorting, "Your ex-wife?" "You!" Julian’s face darkened even more. "I almost forgot," Serena said with a smile, "So, did you register for marriage with Vera yet? If you did, I have to wish you a ’happy wedding’." Julian was so angry he couldn’t speak. People passing by jostled them slightly as they walked past. In the dim light, her smile was particularly glaring. After a long time, he finally managed to say, "Haven’t seen you for a while, you’ve gotten quite sharp-tongued." Serena laughed, "That’s because you never really knew me." Her personality, her vision, her inner self, he seemed to have never truly understood. He always seemed to want to possess her unilaterally. There was a time she loved him, willing to spend her life with him to understand each other. But now, she had taken back her love. So, who he was, no longer mattered. Watching Julian rendered speechless, Serena felt a bit deflated. Not wanting to deal with him, Serena noticed Jasper across the room, holding two bottles of beer as if searching for someone, and she waved at him before heading over. Seeing Serena about to go back to the dance floor, and knowing Jasper was there, Julian felt even angrier. Without caring, he once again tightly grasped Serena’s wrist, forcing her to the private room Ian had reserved upstairs. He couldn’t stand seeing her dancing with so many people, even more so with Jasper! His heart felt as if it was burning with a fire, making him extremely restless. "Julian, let me go, do you hear me!" Serena pounded Julian with her fist, but his large hand was like a clamp, impossible to break free. "You’re hurting me." Serena gripped the railing beside her, bent down, and bit into his hand forcefully, yet Julian still didn’t let go. He just looked at her, his eyes a deep black. "Serena!" Jasper noticed them and hurriedly rushed over. Seeing Jasper, Julian immediately hoisted and carried Serena upstairs. All the way, Serena pounded his back violently. Only when a cacophony of voices reached them did Julian finally halt. Serena was infuriated. Taking advantage of the moment, she kicked hard at Julian. Julian grunted in pain and finally released her. Serena seized the opportunity to touch the ground. Julian frowned and wanted to reach out again, but in the next instant— Serena delivered a fierce slap to Julian’s face. Her whole body was trembling slightly, her lips pressed tight, and her fingertips slightly shaking. She detested this feeling. She hated this powerlessness, hated his disregard for her will, using strength to compulse her, making her furious! Two voices chimed in. Bianca and Ian realized what was happening and hurried to their side. Julian’s left cheek had already swelled rapidly; he looked at her, his lips tightly pressed, his eyes dangerous and dark. "Julian, I’m warning you, if you ever lay a hand on me again, I’ll call the police!" Serena’s voice was icy. Her voice was full of determination, with no leaving space for negotiation. The commotion here had attracted Quinn and others from the private room. Quinn, along with a few young handsome men who had been dancing just earlier, all stepped out. "What’s going on?" They remarked in confusion, looking from one person to another. Julian’s gaze was dark as he scanned over those young handsome men. "Who are they?" Julian spat out through gritted teeth. "Can’t you see? The guys we’re hanging out with," Bianca directly responded, not saving any face for Julian. Julian’s face was stormy, intending to speak. At that moment, Jasper hurried over with two bottles of beer in hand. Unable to hold back his anger, he directly kicked at Julian. "Jasper!" Ian was displeased, immediately charging forward. Ethan, having just returned from the restroom, saw the situation and rushed up to pull them apart. The scene became chaotic. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵✦𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮✦𝓷𝓮𝓽 A loud crash resounded, halting everyone. All eyes turned toward the source of the sound. It was Serena who had taken the beer from Jasper’s hand and smashed it on the ground. The ground was covered with beer foam. "Enough." She said, then turned to Bianca, gently saying, "Joy, let’s go back to the private room." With that, she took Bianca’s hand and began to walk back to the private room. Ian still wanted to say something, but Bianca directly mocked from the side, "Really opened my eyes, someone still trying to control their ex-wife after the divorce, I have never seen someone so shameless before!" "What about me? If you’re angry, that person shouldn’t have fooled around in the first place!" Bianca was adept at retorts: "You’re in the wrong, Julian, so stop acting like a victim, it’s disgusting." Quinn was already leading those young handsome men back into the private room, Jasper paid a tip and called cleaning staff and then joined Ethan in escorting Bianca and Serena back into the room. They slammed the private room door shut right in Julian’s face. Ian went to pull the door, but it wouldn’t budge. Julian’s face was pale with anger, his fists clenched tightly, the bite mark Serena left on the back of his right hand still oozing crimson blood in the dim lighting.
