Malin snorted, then walked towards his temporary camp without looking back, leaving the guards staring in astonishment at the fire in the distant tunnel. The supernatural creatures had already approached. At this moment, Malin did not expand his domain. Given the strength of these creatures, they couldn’t have sensed the danger in advance, so they failed to launch an attack. It seemed they were not prepared for a head-on collision here. This time, they didn’t attack, seemingly not wanting to charge forward and spill their blood like before. As the lowest realm of Chaos cannon fodder, if there were a Chaos commander present, it wouldn’t allow them peace in the tunnel. Therefore, Malin selected a seemingly stronger supernatural creature, planting a spiritual fire seed within its body. When the fire consumed it, the spiritual flame would ignite these aberrant monsters in a manner known as ’spread’. No pity, no discrimination, only the most efficient purification. Returning to the temporary camp, finding everyone yet to return, Malin pondered for a moment, opening a teleportation rift leading to the wild potato area marked before. At this moment, it was sunset, and because there was still sunlight, there were no monsters to worry about. However, Malin noticed this potato field was considerably damaged. The culprit trampling these potatoes didn’t intend to eat them. Malin saw traces left by animals being dragged, and after confirming the size and trajectory of the marks, he ruled out the clumsy upright apes and confirmed it wasn’t a leopard either. Hence, Malin grabbed a stick and followed the tracks to the cave entrance. After a Frost Giant battle cry, Malin entered the cave and dragged out a giant bear — the latter was eating a deer inside the cave. Wielding the stick, Malin gave it a good beating and then using spiritual energy, warned the bear not to linger around the potato area, before kicking it back into the cave. By the time he returned to the potato area, the moon had begun to rise. Malin took a few bunches, shook off the dirt, and was about to leave when a distant faint sound made him frown. Something was stealing the potatoes. Malin instinctively scanned the area, discovering it was a small animal. No big deal, just a small creature, Malin thought, considering he wasn’t so ruthless as to prevent even small animals from struggling to survive, he was thus ready to leave. But the small creature was startled by Malin’s spiritual sweep, immediately shrieking and charging over, and then Malin watched as this little rascal grew larger as it rushed over, turning into a giant creature by the time it reached Malin. Malin reached out and grabbed the big creature by the throat with an iron grip, despite the disparity in size. The large creature, silently stunned by the unexpected situation, and Malin tossed aside the potatoes, pulling out the World Tree Sapling transformed into a hammer, striking it on the creature’s face. Ignore mercy at your peril, try to kill? Looks like some little rascal needs to understand the meaning of the terrifying upright apes. The big creature rolled on the ground, fiercely flipping over in a frenzy, two wind blades slicing through Malin’s afterimage left in place, along with decimating the potatoes behind Malin. Appearing behind it, Malin swapped the hammer for a grapple, grabbing the big creature’s scruff and slamming it into the ground, then grabbing its tail, swinging it to the other side of the land. After a few heavy smashes, the creature finally reverted to its original small form — or maybe it was beaten thoroughly by Malin. After maintaining the potato area with spell formations, Malin took the little rascal and the potatoes back to the Anmoteke station camp — intending to sell the lightning mink, known to be a decent magic pet among North American mages, to gauge market prices. This little rascal, suffering from Malin’s beating, had its tail dislocated, drooping to one side, and Malin threw it by the campfire. Once on the ground, it attempted to flee, and Malin didn’t bother with it, so it quickly scurried to the corner, preparing to dig a hole and escape. Then Mana’s vine whip hit its tail at the dislocated spot. A solid strike, this creature, the scientific name being Lightning Mink, cried out for a long time, then faced with the choice between the whip or the fragrant baked potatoes... it decisively chose the latter. It trotted over to Malin, rubbing its head against his trouser leg. "Running still?" Since this little rascal understood human language, Malin asked while baking the potatoes. It shook its head, indicating it didn’t plan to run anymore. Alright then, Malin performed a healing spell on it, thus preserving its tail. With its tail healed, the little rascal keenly realized it couldn’t resist the diminutive life form before it, thus promptly opting to become the pet of this creature. And so when the time came for Fatty Lin En and his guards to return from their posts, they not only enjoyed the delicious baked potatoes (courtesy of Malin’s generous sprinkling of salt and cumin) but also saw the Lightning Mink, stuffed to fullness, coiled by the campfire. "Uh, isn’t this... a Lightning Mink? Malin, how did you catch it?" "While grabbing potatoes above ground, I found this little thing stealing potatoes. Upon noticing I was observing it, this fellow immediately jumped over to confront me." Malin recounted the incident, casting a glare at the little creature again.
