Chapter 32 Theon had come to two more appointments to see DR Elton and the news kept getting better. The doctor was certain now that the mate bond of his parents being in such close quarters was healing the child. As happy as Theon was to be living with Naomi, in her little apartment, he needed to return to the pack sooner rather than later. Her brother, Rhys, was his second in command, his Beta and he was running the pack in his absence but there were somethings that only that Alpha could do and he needed to be there for his people, for moral. Theon also knew that it would be huge boost for the pack If her returned with Naomi and if she was willing to forgive and work with them, as well as bring home his son and heir to show them there was security in the future of the pack. His own mother tended towards dramatics from time to time and would wail that if he hadn't succumbed to Lilian's spell, it was likely Naomi, and she would have a grand pup, and he would have a lovely baby running around the pack by now. She's going to be insufferable now she know how right she was. Unsure on how to broach the subject Theon decided that buttering her up and then getting Naomi a little tipsy was the best way, so he took her out to wine and dine her. They had made it through the main course by the time Theon worked up the nerve to bring up the pack issue. "Nai, um, after you left I spent a lot of time talking to the pack members about you" Theon said slightly hesitantly. Naomi didn't reply just gave a slight nod to encourage him to carry on. This was a good sign compared to her previous reaction. "I never realised they made you feel like such an outsider, and well, neither did they really. Everyone is sorry for how they treated you before and how they treated you that day. But what they really want is to be able to say sorry to you in person and show you how sorry they are face to face" Theon said pausing momentarily but not too long in case Naomi stopped him "And my mum would really love to see her grandson. So I was wondering if you'd come back for a few weeks. Nothing permanent or set in stone. Just a visit to see how you feel?" Theon finished his rehearsed speech and sat silently with his head bowed slightly, unable to bring himself to meet Naomis gaze in case she was angry at him but after a moment she answered him so softly he wasn't sure he had heard right. "I've been thinking maybe a short visit maybe a good idea" Theon's head whipped up and his eyes searched Naomis face to make sure she was being serious. "If you being here has helped Alex then maybe going to see his roots and his other family will help him more. Plus, it's his history and his heritage." Naomi said shrugging "Are you sure?" Theon asked, "I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do." "I'm an adult now, and I am not the same maybe it's time to stop holding on to childish grudges. I never thought I'd forgive you and now you're living in my apartment" she smirked at this last part. "As you never said anything I was half hoping you hadn't realised I'd moved in" said Theon in what he hoped was an apologetic tone, but the look on his face was too smug to pull it off. "Besides Lottie is nagging me about it" Naomi said surprising Theon. He tilted his head in a questioning manner "She keeps having visions telling her I need to go to the pack". "Why didn't you tell me?" asked Theon "Because I had the same visions for months and I already told the moon goddess I wasn't going, so she moved on to Lottie instead. As a descendant of the goddess, I have no problem ignoring her when I want to but Lottie doesn't have the same luxury"
