In her daze, someone had grabbed her hand. Because she hadn’t expected anyone to run into her, she fell. "Please, Miss!" The man sent an apologetic look, but his voice was still insistent. Zerra wondered. She was easily knocked down by him. Why ask for help from a weak-looking chicken like her? Perhaps he had seen her coming out of the hospital. She took a deep breath and stared at him seriously. "What happened?" "My teacher is in danger!" The man grabbed her hand pleadingly again. "What kind of danger?" She pressed. "Zombies and mutated animals! So please help us..." The man had some scratches and wounds on his skin, but they were nothing serious. Zerra’s face grew serious. "Let’s go." She walked forward, waiting for the man to lead her toward where his teacher was. Since he called him teacher, maybe they were a teacher and student from some kind of university? Nᴇw novel chapters are publɪshed on 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵※𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮※𝓷𝓮𝓽 "Miss..." Bewilderment painted his face. "What are you waiting for? The longer it drags on, the more perilous your teacher’s situation will be!" She snapped. He hesitated. Then, she saw the look in his eyes. This man was obviously looking down on her! Why couldn’t she take care of a few measly zombies or mutated animals? As long as they were zombies, she was sure she could beat them. "Yes, yes!" He was startled by her sudden change of expression. However, after he led her to the place, he regretted it. The girl looked so weak that a breeze might make her fall down. Just like earlier how she got knocked down simply by him grabbing her. Could she beat the zombies? "How about we just go back to the base and ask for help from more people?" He asked rather nervously, fixing his glasses. "It’s fine. I can beat the zombies. Which shop is your teacher in?" She asked, not caring about his doubt of her. He pointed toward a coffee shop a hundred meters ahead. She ran toward there, leaving the man behind. "Hey wait!" He muttered worriedly. She paid no mind to him and continued to run toward the coffee shop. A fleeting thought crossed her mind. If it were before, she might not care about any troubled passersby at all. Their life and death had nothing to do with her at all. However, her family in this life had changed her somewhat. She had people to protect. Even though it was the apocalypse and people’s characters were often questionable. She had only one thought in mind. Someday, in case her parents or siblings were in trouble, she hoped any stranger would lend a hand to help them. Just like what she was about to do to this stranger. The closer she got to the coffee shop, the more nauseating the smell became. She secretly controlled the zombies in the vicinity, forbidding them from getting closer. Just by one look with her senses, she could already detect the presence of zombies inside and some zombie pets, more than a dozen cats. A man in his late fifties was fighting against the zombies. However, based on his injuries, he was already at the last straw. "Miss, t-the zombies are dangerous. Don’t recklessly go in–" The man’s gasping voice was interrupted again. He had just caught up with her after some struggle, exerting all the remaining energy he had. She was too fast! Just like the speed when she had left him behind earlier, she quickly slammed the door open and entered the coffee shop. Soon, she entangled the zombies in the fight. Although it was more of an act on her part. As her power increased, she noticed a pleasant surprise. Zombies seemed to actively avoid her, like they sensed oppression from a being with a higher power level. If it were before, they would still attack her. It seemed to be the same power as the tiger. The tiger could make mutated animals with lower power levels instinctively avoid it. For greater range, the tiger also could release its oppressive power consciously. After a lot of ’struggle’, Zerra finally saved the teacher, who was lying on the floor, gasping in pain. "Teacher!" The man from earlier entered the coffee shop, checking his teacher worriedly. "He has gotten injured," Zerra muttered. "Luckily, the injuries aren’t from zombie bites or scratches." The man pressed his lips together. "Can I bring my teacher to the hospital, Miss?" She tilted her head. As she handed over some medicine to him, she answered, "I think it should be fine. Just get out as soon as possible once you have recovered." He was actually an ability user, but his fighting skills didn’t seem to be that good. The teacher looked decent; too bad he was outnumbered. "Of course." The man nodded in gratitude. He didn’t expect she could save his teacher single-handedly. Judging from the way they dressed, Zerra already guessed they might have been the family of some base leaders or something. They were still relatively clean. "Did your group get attacked?" She asked. There were some corpses inside, but they weren’t zombie corpses. Moreover, the corpses still look fresh. When he heard Zerra’s question, the man’s face became grim. It stung, reliving a rather heavy memory. They nearly died, after all! He pursed his lips and answered, "Yes. We got attacked. None of us expected that there would be so many zombies in the coffee shop. The five of us had died." "Are you on the way somewhere?" He nodded again. "We are going to the capital. We have a lot of people on our side, though. Some people who are still behind would most likely catch up soon." So, they still had more people on their side. She didn’t pry into their identities. Thus, with the man carrying his teacher along the way, they headed to the hospital. She saw Cassias staring at her after they arrived. Even Laziel’s eyes held slight reproach. Oh, they might think she had been kidnapped or something had happened to her again. "Are there any doctors who can help my teacher here?" The man, whose name Zerra had just recently found out, asked. His name was Will. "Of course." Darren told him. "Wait here for a bit. Take your friend inside first." "Who are they, Zee?" Laziel pulled her in curiosity. "Why do you always pick up strange things when you come back?" Zerra’s mouth twitched. He wasn’t referring to the tiger and its cub, right? What did he mean by strange things? She coughed. "I saw them in trouble and decided to help." "You could have told us. We would have gone with you." Laziel shook his head in disapproval. "You nearly made Cassias turn down the entire base." He scolded her for a while until he was satisfied. Thankfully, they didn’t seem to have informed her parents of her temporary disappearance. Darren came back with a doctor not long after. At the same time, someone reported to him. "Mr. Valez, someone from the Brown family is looking for you." "I won’t meet them." Darren spat coldly. The man had a look of hesitation, and he slowly informed him. "They are already here, Mr. Valez."
