The Granian Sun started to rise above the clouds, casting out the darkness brought by the night. With it came its warmth and bright light, dispelling all indefinite blackness, and the fear that came with it was no more. The planet’s nocturnal creatures retreated to their dens, holes, nests, houses, and other abodes, while the diurnal creatures woke up for another day. For some, it was another day to live and celebrate the gift of life. For others, it was their last day alive. A few knew they were going to die, but others didn’t realize that today would be the last day they’d ever wake up. For another group, it was a day to survive in this vicious environment with unknown dangers lurking among them. One of those people in that group was Skyler, a human with the Gifted ability that allows her to turn any part of her body into that of a beast. For the last two days, the woman had been subjected to intense training exercises by the emperor of the Granian race, Lord Grania. According to the Granian, the exercises were designed to help her unlock her energy and control her aura, a technique known as Eneraflux. The first training exercise seemed simple enough for Skyler. Simply keeping up a heavy object while fending off auras was not too difficult, but it proved to be a good challenge. Suddenly, the exercises became more challenging when the Granian emperor decided to ’surprise’ her with a random, unexpected attack. Skyler, however, managed to deflect the attack and proved that she had the potential to tap into her Eneraflux. Despite this, the woman was put through even more intense training, including fighting a large, terrifying beast. The creature initially seemed to be a challenge due to its sheer size and girth, but not as terrifying as the thought of being crushed under its weight. For a while, all Skyler did was run and evade the beast’s attacks. However, once she got a taste of its blood and acquired its DNA, she switched from being on the defensive to the offensive. Another factor to add was that she had consumed the beast’s DNA, which contained beast crystal energy. The energy, a catalyst needed for her to tap into her life energy, proved to be a great ally for Skyler as she unknowingly activated her Eneraflux. Wielding that power, Skyler used it to slam the top of the beast’s head until the front of its mouth was torn off its body. With only one hit, Skyler not only killed the beast but also got the chance to feast. To Lord Grania, her presentation was of utmost amazement, as neither his students nor he himself had learned about Eneraflux that quickly. It took them at least three human years to tap into their energy, but Skyler had done it on her second training exercise. However, to the other Granians—Grim, One Horn, and Helda—the presentation was far from amazing. It was terrifying. If their human project became stronger than them, they knew that having control over her would be a thing of the past. She wasn’t like the Blood Mutants that could be controlled with Blood Mutant blockers, and even then, those blockers only worked for a certain amount of time, level, and strength. This looming danger caused them to plan ahead, forcing them to come up with a possible solution to maintain control over Skyler. As for Skyler, her body collapsed after she used her Eneraflux to kill the beast. Tapping into such a foreign and immense power was incredible, but it took a toll on the human body. At this moment, Skyler’s body was suffering those consequences. [A few hours after her fight.] Waking up with painful groans and moans, Skyler opened her heavy eyes and found herself in the same place she was yesterday—the foot of the smallest Granian mountain. Her body, screaming in pain at this moment, remained stiff and unmoving. Her breathing was heavy as if something heavy was placed on her chest. Her insides felt as though they were twisted, turned, and churned repeatedly, and her head was so heavy that she couldn’t lift it up. "Ah, geez..." she spoke, hoping that someone was close enough to listen. "Last night was a wild event. What happened to my body?" Thankfully, One Horn, who was assigned to protect Skyler, was close enough and ready to answer her questions. Read full story at 𝖓𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖑~𝖋𝖎𝖗𝖾~𝖓𝖊𝖙 "Young woman," he spoke. "Last night you tapped into your Eneraflux life energy and used it to kill the beast. I’m sure your memory is still fresh with that, yes?" "It is..." she answered. "...but it’s not at the same time. Wha-what happened to me? Why’s my body so stiff and why does EVERYWHERE hurt?" "You exhausted your energy supplies," the Granian went on to explain. "Your human body, mixed with your Gifted abilities, was just too much for the Eneraflux to be sustained within yourself. The end result was your body going into a state of shock and eventually painful experiences." "That doesn’t make much sense to me," she answered while clenching her teeth together, hoping to silently groan and hold back her screams. "It feels like I’m dying from the inside." "Well, you are," the Granian responded in the most annoying way possible. His answer, as short as it was, frightened Skyler and nearly made her rise from where she was lying. "Your body’s fighting against the Eneraflux. Remember, Eneraflux is a continuous flow of energy coursing within you. Since you have tapped into the continuous flow, your body’s eating itself to stop that new, foreign energy from flowing. But not to worry, we have a solution for you." As One Horn spoke, Skyler’s body was lifted from where it was and placed inside a cylindrical tube. This time, the tube was filled with a sticky orange liquid that felt like slightly boiled blood. Once inside, Skyler lost all senses of consciousness, leaving the Granians to start the ’healing’ process. "Don’t worry. Everything will be just fine, human."
